If you struggle with your weight and are considering weight loss surgery, you may qualify to participate in the FLOWS Trial - a new clinical study being offered at select US locations. The FLOWS Trial is investigating a novel surgical technology designed to optimize weight loss surgery.

If you qualify and choose to join the FLOWS Trial you will receive your weight loss surgery and study-related care at no cost to you. You will also be compensated for your time and travel to attend any required study visits.

Why Participate?

If you are overweight and find it challenging to achieve sustainable weight loss, you may be eligible to participate in a groundbreaking clinical research study called the FLOWS Trial. This FLOWS Trial is investigating a novel surgical technology designed to optimize weight loss surgery. Your participation will involve evaluating the effectiveness of this technology in completing a new surgical technique.

Frequent Questions

Clinical studies or trials are used to learn about the safety and effectiveness of new medical devices, and medical procedures. Although there are many types of clinical trials, all must conform to strict rules set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These rules help protect the rights and safety of those who volunteer to take part in clinical trials.

2. Will I have to pay for anything if I participate in the FLOWS Trial?

If you qualify and choose to participate, you will receive study-related care at no cost to you. Health insurance is not required to participate.

3. I'm not sure if I qualify for weight loss surgery? Can I still possibly join the FLOWS Trial?

As part of the study, your local study doctor will review your history, medications, and overall health to confirm if you are eligible to participate.

4. How long does the FLOWS Trial last?

It you join the study; your participation will last up to ~60 days. During this time, you will be asked to meet with your study doctor 3 times for follow up visits. You will be compensated for your time and travel to attend these visits.

5. What if I join the study and decide I do not want to participate anymore?

As with all clinical studies, your participation is completely voluntary. You may leave the study at any time without any effect on your future medical care.
